Rose Dietz Obituary
Rose Oleniak Tibbits Dietz, 89, a resident of Chandler, AZ since 1945, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2011. She was born on March 13, 1922 to Andrew and Mary (Hodoba) Oleniak in Manchester, NH. Rose graduated from Highland High School in 1940 and moved to Detroit, MI. There she met her future husband, John (Jack) Manzer Tibbits and they were married on January 2, 1943. After Jack was injured in World War II, they moved to Chandler, AZ in 1945 and purchased the Cottonwood Court, which was later renamed the Our Chalet. After Jack's death in 1974, Rose continued to run the business until 1976. On February 19, 1983 Rose married Pastor Lynn Dietz, of the Chandler Christian Church. After a short but extremely happy life together, Lynn passed away on November 6, 1988. Rose leaves family and friends with many happy and cherished memories. She will always be remembered for her amazing smile, fried chicken, french fries and tacos. Rose is survived by her son John (Gwena Kay) and daughter Mary E. She is also survived by her nieces Billie Gail Davis (Dana and Shelby), Diane Johnson (Steve), Robert Lipke and her sister Sandra Lacombe (Speed) and their children. She was preceded in death by her sisters Helen, Kay Martha and by Tony, who was like a second son. Please join Rose's family and friends in a celebration of her life on Friday April 29, 2011 beginning at 11 am at the Valley of the Sun Memorial Park at 10940 E. Chandler Height Rd., Chandler. AZ. John, Kay and Mary E. wish to express their deepest gratitude to the loving staff at Corona Adult Care Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rose's name to Hospice of the Valley.
