Christensen, Elsie Terheyden
Cherished wife of Harvey L. Christensen for over 56 years. Devoted mom of Karen E. Christensen and Harvey F. Christensen and his wife Catherine and adoring grandmother to their children Ryan, Joshua, and Annette. Beloved sister of William F. Terheyden and his wife Jean and loving aunt to their daughters Juliana and Victoria. Dearest daughter of the late Ferdinand and Elsie Terheyden. A native of San Francisco. Born on May Day, May 1, 1929. Alumna of Notre Dame Des Victoires (NDV) grammar school; St. Brigid's High School; Dominican University San Rafael CA, Class of 1950 (BA); San Francisco State University, Masters 1956, Specialized Teaching Credentials. San Francisco Unified School District teacher of 20 years in secondary education; and special education and teaching resource specialist at El Dorado Elementary. She was an extraordinary teacher, giving extra attention to all her students' K-5 reading, her students, parents and community around her. Fifty-year member of Auxiliary of Little Children's Aid. Past member of St. Ignatius College Prep mothers club. Former parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy in Daly City, CA. In 1999 Elsie and her husband Harvey retired to Surprise, AZ in the Sun City Grand community where she was active in drama and art. She was a world traveler who loved to dance. Harvey and Family: Very sorry to read in the Chronicle of Elsie's death. We remember all the good times our families had in years past. Hope you both had many good retirement years together.
