Jerome Graves Obituary
71, of Phoenix, AZ passed away April 28, 2011. Jay grew up in Melvin, IA, graduated Univ. of IA and served in the US Navy. He moved to AZ in 1967, worked at GE, and in 1975, received his real estate broker license. Jay held assn. positions and earned many awards during his real estate career working at Vera Wilkerson & Associates, JJ Graves & Associates, Dan Schwartz Realty and Principal Residential Group. He also served 22 years as Chair for the North Central Tour group. He loved animals, sailing, spending time with his grandchildren, playing his guitar and singing country music. Jay is survived by his companion Mary Graves, daughter Christine Faller (Shane), sister Toni Peters (David), four grandchildren, nieces and nephew. He is preceded in death by his sister Karen Stimson. Visitation: Sunday, May 1, 4-7pm, Hansen Chapel, 8314 N. 7th St., Phx. Memorial service: Monday, May 2, 10am, Gloria Dei Church, 3539 E. Stanford, Paradise Valley. Jay will be laid to rest in Melvin, IA, May 10. In lieu of flowers, donations to www.hov.org, www.aawl.org and www.askican.org. Dear Mary and Family,
Sorry to hear about Jay. We grew up at the same time through high school, he in Melvin and I in Sanborn. I ran around with Karen more but a lot of the time Jay was there too. I have a lot of good memeries, especially from at the Lakes.

It was my pleasure to know Jay for 52 years, ever since Jay was a sophomore at the University of Iowa and I was a freshman. He was a warm, loving human being who took care to keep in touch with people whose lives he impacted. I will think of him fondly and say a prayer for him. May God rest his soul. Dudley Hanson

I am very thankful to Jay for being there when my mother (Mona) suffered through cancer. It was a blow to us so soon after mom passed that he found out that he had cancer. I am blessed to have known him on this side of Heaven. Linda (daughter of Mona Kruse)

Jay was a warm, caring and thoughtful man. He always displayed good cheer and would burst into song at the slightest prompting (sometimes with no prompting at all!)
In his role as a Consulting Broker for Dan Schwartz Realty, Inc., he lent a sympathetic ear and offered sound professional advice to all the agents who called him or dropped by his office to chat. Jay also volunteered a lot of his time to improving the profession he loved. We will all miss him greatly.
