Cope, Hazel Justice
age 88, of Andys Trout Farm Road, Otto, NC, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2011 at her residence. She was a native of Macon County, the daughter of the late Alden Forrest Justice and Naomi Long Justice. Married to Andy Cope for 70 years, Hazel was co founder of Andy's Trout Farm and worked side by side with Andy to build a family business. Hazel was a loving wife, mother, and granny. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking and celebrating family birthdays. She spent winters in Arizona for the past 25 years and made many special friends there. Hazel was a Charter member of Bettys Creek Baptist Church, and a member of the Bettys Creek Community. Hazel is survived by her husband of 70 years, Andy Cope; one daughter, Barbara Passmore and husband Bill of Dillard, GA, one son, Jerry Cope and wife Becky of Dillard, GA; one brother, Coyl Justice of Otto, NC; three grandchildren, Sonya Leah Cousineau, Paula Passmore Ledford and Marty Andrew Cope; six great grandchildren, Maleah, Mariah and Madison Cousineau, Renee Whitmire, Ashlei and Jeremy Cope. She was preceded in death by five siblings, Helen Justice, Grace Justice Peak, Margie Justice Southards, Oakley Justice and Bob Justice. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 30th at 11:00 am at Bettys Creek Baptist Church, with Rev. Ronia Hunter and Rev. Jason Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Wayne Justice, Jeff Foster, Mickey Justice, Jeb Justice, Ray Peak and Hugh Justice. The family will receive friends from 10:00 till 11:00 am, one hour prior to the service at the Church.
