Ruth Kennedy Obituary

Kennedy, Ruth MacNab
passed away peacefully on April 21, 2011 in Scottsdale AZ. Ruth grew up in Shaker Heights, OH, attended Miami of Ohio, and later trained in ophthalmic technology. Ruthie had great travels and good times with husband, Kermit Kennedy's Canadian maritime cohort and graciously hosted family and friends at their winter retreat in Sarasota, FL. Ruth served on the Board of Directors for the Cleveland Alzheimer's Association and as a compassionate and thoughtful mentor to numerous families. Ruth traveled extensively, was a legendary "fashionista," consummate shopper, animal lover, and model of gentility to her family and friends. Her life in Arizona gave her daily joy with familythese last three years. She was a generous, thoughtful and loving mother to Eliza Kennedy Kendall (of Scottsdale AZ); grandmother ("Rootie Tootie") to Eric Kendall (of Lenexa KS) and Kris Kendall-Smith (of Scottsdale AZ); great grandmother ("Gigi") to McKenna Lee Kendall and Peyton Kendall Smith; and "big" sister to Bruce MacNab (of Pioneer CA). She will be sorely missed by nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends. The family is deeply grateful for most compassionate and capable care from all at Vi of Grayhawk. I´ve been thinking about Aunt Ruthie a lot lately. I feel she´s around. I can see her big grin and feel her laughter at any situation. She always found the humor. I learned so much of that from her. Miss you - Meg

I have just recently discovered that Ruth's grandfather and my grandfather were brothers. My mother was a MacNab. I very much regret I did not get to know Ruth, who sounds like a really warm and kind human being, but she will always be in my prayers, as will all the MacNab family in America, especially at this time.

I did not know her, but I know she was a kind person, I remembered her well because she was so very kind to my Father, who died in 2005 from Alzheimer's. May God always Bless you and your family, take good care. Please find comfort in God's Word at Isaiah 41:10, again our hearts go out to you. Cartier Family
