Dear Lorts family, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I have alot of memories of growing up with all of you, and of course, all the trouble Kelle and Cath, that we always seemed to get it. Some of those grey hairs I'm sure had my name on them too. That is a very handsome picture of your Father. Send my love and sincere sympathies to your Mom. I know the loss of a Father, and will hold you all in my heart. Love, Cheri

Kelle and Family

Though I met Mr. Lorts once on my trip to Arizona in 2005. He made me feel welcomed right from the start! He was a great man that seem as though he would do anything for anyone. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with all of you through this difficult time. May the memories that all of you shared through the years ease your sorrow. Thinking of you all.

I admire Mr. Lorts as much as anyone I've ever met. He one time told me that when he coached baseball, his line-up was based on the best players at each position, not on what each players' dad did for a living. When it came to his gas station, he charged famous people (Lee Iacocca, for one) the same amount for a gallon of gas that he charged people he didn't recognize.

This consistency led to a lot of success, as far as I could tell, and what I learned from him was to treat others fairly and consistently; as best I can, I've always tried to follow that advice.

One other piece of advice he paid me was to enjoy golf, instead of throwing temper tantrums, and he'd be happy to know that it's been quite some time since I've thrown a club or 'hissy fit' on a golf course.

My wife, Kerrie, and I will miss you a lot, Mr. Lorts.
