Marion Schaffer Obituary
95 of Mesa, Arizona, went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 22, 2011. She was the first child born to Charles & Nell McDermott in up state New York. Marion married Clarence Schaffer on April 25, 1933, "the love of her life". They had 68 years together untill his death in 2001. Marion and Clarence had 9 children; Betty, Margie, Sonny, Doris, Chuck, Jeanie, Jo Ann, Jackie and Shirley. Marion's joys in life were her family and her 42 grandchildren, 63 great grandchildren and 25 great-great grandchildren. No one was ever a stranger to Mom. Bingo and shopping were her passions. Mom was a very loving and caring person and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence, 2 daughters, Betty and Doris. Marion was the oldest of 12 sibblings. She has a sister, Cathy (Tom) Mosher and a brother, Sonny McDermott in up state New York. Visitation 6 - 8 PM Mon. at Green Acres Mortuary, 401 N. Hayden Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85257, where services will be held Tues. May 3, 2011 @ 9:30 AM. www.greenacresmortuary.net

Dear Joann, Jackie and family, So sorry to hear of the loss of your mom. What a sweet person she was. Just talked to her a month ago and wanted to know when we could come see her again. She loved her family and always welcomed us with open arms. She will be greatly missed.
