Charles Swineford Obituary

Swineford, Charles Wilbur
Charles Wilbur Swineford of Naples, FL passed away peacefully at Vitas Hospice, surrounded by family on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at the age of 83. Chuck was the son of Curtis and Marie Swineford. He graduated from Bowling Green University, spending his entire career with the YMCA in cities including Lima, Detroit, New York, Phoenix and Las Vegas, meeting many life-long friends along the way. Charles was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Air Corp. Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Dona Jane; cherished daughters Lynne Orphan (Dale), Dianne Liese, Janis Sollenbargar; sister Pat Ellertson (Jud). Also surviving are his treasured grandchildren; Scott, Kirstin (five kisses forever!), Brittany and Taylor; daughter-in-law Anna-Marie, sister-in-law Dana Jean Marshall and family; loving nieces Laurey and Sally, nephew Chris, and Lucy the beloved poodle. He was preceded in death by his only son Tom, and daughter Pam. Chuck was a role model of love, devoted to friends and family, touching the lives of many people with his smile, generosity and trademark sense of humor. Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Community Congregational Church, 15300 North Tamiami Trail on May 14 at 11 AM. The family requests all donations be sent to their local YMCA or the wonderful Vitas Hospice Care, 8300 Collier Blvd, Naples, FL 34114.
