Bertie Brice Obituary

Brice, Bertie V.
age 91, born April 4, 1920, entered into rest May 2, 2011. Bertie was a long time Glendale resident and the co-founder of the original Arizona Milk Transport. She was a past president and member of the Glendale Women's Club, board member of Az Cactus-Pine Girl Scout Council. Bertie was a Sunday school teacher, chairwoman of the Glendale Arts Show, committee chairwoman for the creation of Thunderbird Park. Bertie had a fondness for growing roses and gardening. Her hobbies included playing bridge and defeating her grandkids in many card games, traveling, baking wedding cakes and working puzzles in her later years. Bertie was preceded in death by her husband Clinton "CT" Brice, parents, 11 siblings and a grandson. Survi vors include daughter Ginger Sinanovic, daughter Ivy Downard and husband Robert Downard, and son Gene Brice and wife Marvis Peck-Brice of Idaho, 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren. A service celebrating Bertie's life will be held on Saturday, May 7th at 11am, at West Resthaven Cemetery and Funeral Home, 6450 W. Northern Ave., Glendale. Visitation will be held 30 minutes prior to the service. Donations can be made in Bertie's honor to Hospice of Arizona Foundation, 19820 N. 7th Ave., suite 130, Phoenix, Az 85027.
