Ankie Maskin Obituary
Age 66, from Phoenix, Arizona, passed away on April 29, 2011. Ankie was born on February 4, 1945 in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. In her early years, Ankie was a professional dancer; a career that took her around the world. Pursuant to that, Ankie launched a 2nd career as an Aethetician. She was the owner of Ankie's Skin Care in Staten Island, NY until she moved to Arizona 5 years ago to be closer to her family and grandchildren. Ankie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Dr. Erik and Dahlia Maskin and grandchildren Ava and Jacob Maskin. Ankie is also survived by her beloved brothers Hans and Henk Sulkers. Ankie will be dearly missed by her loving family and many close friends. A memorial service will take place on Friday, May 6th at 1:00 p.m. at Congregation Beth Israel, 10460 N. 56th St., Scottsdale, AZ 85253. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ankie Maskin Memorial Dance Scholarship Fund (contact Sinai Mortuary). Arrangements by Sinai Mortuary.

Sincere condolences to Erik, Dahlia and family on ther loss of Ankie. I was a customer at Nevica and ultimately we became friends seeing each other whenever I visited AZ. Our time spent together was filled with 'catch-up' conversation, many laughs and sharing pictires of our grandchildren - she being very proud of Ava and Jacob. Ankie was a kind, beautiful, loving person and I hope your cherished memories will help you through this difficult time. She will be missed by many. Warm regards and prayers

Dearest Ankie shared a positive, beautiful spirit with me and my mother when we visited with her at the salon. She was a bright ray of beauty and joy. I appreciated how much she did to always make us feel so welcome in her life and we are so sorry to hear of her tragic passing. Our condolences and prayers to her son and his family, as well as her brothers in the Netherlands, and all her friends. Ankie touched my life for only a brief time I am so saddened to say, but her legacy will be felt in my heart forever.

Ankie was such a Great person & Friend ..I spoke of her often and felt as if one day I would see her again and I spoke of her quite often of what great job she always had done .....I met her way back in Spanky"s and followed her to Nevica until she had left to be with her Son & his family .Her Friendship & loyalty always brought a smile to everyone she knew ...........I am very saddened & Hearbroken to hear this news...She will truly be missed by all...

Dear Erik and Dahlia,
We were so heartbroken to hear the sad news of Ankie's passing. She was so beautiful inside and out. We had the pleasure of working with her for over 10 years at Nevica Hair Design. I treasure the time I had with Ankie. I knew her over 25 years and had many wonderful talks with her. She was a beautiful and amazing woman. My condolences to the family. She will be sorely missed.
