Mom, I'm sitting up North in our soon to be retirement home. Rita is with me and we are just relaxing. It is coming up to 4 yrs since you went to be with The Lord. I sit here with tears streaming reading all the messages from the past few years. Continue to watch down over all of us, as we will be together some day.
I love and miss you so

Well today marks two years that you have been gone Mary. What could you and I possible have in common; me a Tennessee Hillbilly and you such a refined, proper, worldly, educated, not to mention beautiful woman? Man did we find common ground! The sense of adventure brought our stories together. On many occasions we talked of our adventure stories back and forth at your round table; it was fun. It didn't take long for me to just be me around you. I miss you! I have got to see so many photos of you and your doings, you only told me of some of your stories, I see alot more in those photos. What a fun smile you have in those photos. You know what is really cool, I get to see a little bit of you ever so often, you see your daughter (my beautiful wife) will do or say something just like you, I don,t tell her everytime I hear it or see it, but it makes me smile. I helped take you North where you wanted to be. I will drop by and visit that canyon on me next hunting adventure. BTW thanks for being there when I needed you most (when my mom died). I Love You Mary! Love Scott

I love you mom. Its been almost 2 years. I cant believe it. It seems like yesterday. I was thinking of dad the other night while laying in bed. And I couldnt believe its been 10 yrs. It also seems like yesterday. Everything is so vivid. And I too remember the cute things you would say. And tell my daughters of them. Like your " For crying out loud" laughing. Or when I couldnt open something. You would laugh and say. You couldnt get yourself out of a wet paper bag. lol pretty funny. Ilove you and God Bless you mom.

Well, it is almost 2 years since the Lord took you to be with him.
Scott mentioned just last night how I sounded like you when I had said something. Like you always said "it didn't come from the neighbors"
As I go through my own trials in life I continually remember the strength that you had, and what you accomplished. It helps so, I Love and Miss you.

Well I'm attempting to send this message for the 3rd time. I meant to attach it to the photos that got sent accidently. Mom, it is your birthday and I sit here just sobbing. I thought of you all day and could hear your voice as you would say something funny. You weren't even trying to it was just the way things commented on situations that were funny.

I have your pillows and lay with them at night. At first it would make me cry, but now I mostly smile.

I take out the measuring cups that I have of yours and I think of you, along with all the belongs of yours that I was blessed to receive.

I think of your strength and all that you had accomplished and I want that strength, and want to tell you how proud I am of you. There is one accomplishment that is greated then all the rest and you over came it.

I miss you so and love you much, my beautiful Mother.

Your loving daughter,

Marie

There have probably been eight million mother-in-law jokes made over the course of human history...but I was unable to add a single one to the list since my mother-in-law was Mary. She was always so sweet and gracious towards me. She was so widely-traveled and so well read that we always had much to talk about. Her sharp wit and open, honest expressions always made me feel warmly welcome around her. I was sorry to hear of her passing and I offer my condolences to the Sherrill family. She will be missed.

Mary Sherrill was a special person. I remember her as one tough cookie, but she was more bark than bite. I truly admired and loved her. We were so disappointed she couldn't come to our Mom's 75th Bday, but her health was failing even then. Patrick and I had just been talking about how she was so tough, she would probably out live us all. I'll be praying for her family as they deal with this sudden deep loss. She was an amazing woman.

I'm so sorry to hear of Mary's passing. We were very good friends some years back and had many good times together. I'll never forget what a gracious hostess she was, and always made us feel welcome in her home. She was part of a group who met once a week in various people's homes for many years. The last time I saw her was about 7 years ago when we ran into each other at physical therapy, and how nice it was to renew our friendship. My condolences to all her family; she was a great lady.

Mary Sherrill was like a mother to me. She treated me like one of her own. If we were acting up, she'd pop me along with the other boys. She taught me how to fish for trout and hunt for doves. I loved her as my own mother. She was a smart and beautiful lady. I will miss her but I know that she lived a good long life and raised a passel of wonderful kids. "Requiescat in pace."

Patrick, I remember most the glowing reports you told of you and your mother traveling in the motorhome around Arizona and just enjoying each other's company. She was someone I wish I had known, but knowing you was a joy and you made Spanish class at PV mall most interesting. I hope you are still working on your Wickiup project and that your flowers bloom in beautiful rememberance of your mother.
Condolences to all your family.
Sincerely,(Nicolas) your Amiga Elaina (Linda) from many days ago....

Chip, Jim, Gerry, Patrick, Rita and Marie;

So sorry to learn of your mom's passing. I knew her for many years. She was a very classy and refined lady who was destined to endure some tough times in her middle years. Fortunately her tenacity, inner strength and true grit brought her through those times. In our last telephone conversation a few years ago, she said she was enjoying time with the six of you and with the grandchildren you presented to her. Her life was thus rewarded.
