Frank, I'm sorry I haven't been in touch with you for the past several years. But I always fondly remember the radio expedition trips we took to cold Russia and hot Mexican islands. I'm so sorry to learn I cannot stop by at your AZ place to see your smiling face, say hello, hear your amazing stories and to share adventures. Rest in peace, man, you are being missed. Farewell, AH0W. My sincere condolences to the Smith family

Our family just learned of Frank's passing last night. Frank was such a wonderful man and musician and accompanied all 3 of our children in their solo ensembles. He had so many wonderful stories to share and was a very kind and gentle soul. He will be deeply missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family in their time of sorrow.

I have wonderful memories of Frank playing the piano for a capella choir at Boise High School. What a great talent! His photo posts on Facebook have already been missed and will be. May God's comfort be with your family.

Such a dear friend, we will truly miss. Frank was so kind to come to Utah and play prelude and postlude organ at our father (Clair Johnson's) funeral.Such a special talent he had, and was so willing to share. We were so appreciative of the sacrifice he made to come. Especially after the recent passing of his own wife. We have fond memories of the Smith family and living on mobley drive. Thank goodness for eternity and the beautiful knowledge of continuing cherished friendships. Our prayers are with his children and Steven, Scott, and Susan.

Frank Smith instructed me in the Finnish language as an LDS missionary in 1973 - for this I will be always greatful. We were also blessed as he often shared his musical talents. My sincere sympathy goes out to the family. (Forrest Mottishaw, Springville, Utah)

My deepest sympathies go to the Smith family. Kirsti died not long after I lost my own wife, Linda, to cancer, so I was able to relate to his grief. It was a joy to have known both Frank and his beautiful wife. I regret that my new wife, Janet did not have the chance to meet Frank, a man of remarkable accomplishments. Our thoughts and prayers will be with his children at this difficult time.

Frank,
I cannot believe you are gone. You were my first and best accompanist and your love for music truely inspired me to become a better musician, and made me feel like I actually was a decent musician. I will never forget you and all the good things you did for me. It's not everyday you find such a talented and gifted pianist, especially one who accompanies never for the pay (because you never did), but rather accompanied to shed a light of passion for music upon those around you. You are dearly missed by myself and by many many others. I am devastated that your life has ended, but blessed that you were a part of mine. May God bless you, and you and your family will always be in my thoughts and prayers.
Love,
Analyce Gonzalez, one of the many flute players who adored you as their accompanist
