Naomi Dennis Obituary
99, of Phoenix, AZ, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2011, just 3 months short of her 100th birthday. She was preceded in death by her loving husband John and three daughters, Darlene Valead/Word, Devilla Matteson, and Margerette Hunt, son James Wiley, daughter-in-law Carol Dennis, and son-in-law James Hunt. She is survived by her daughter Lanaha (Kenneth) Chumley, sons Roy Dennis and Robert (Helen) Dennis, son-in-law Tom Matteson, 21 grandkids, 39 great-grandkids, and 36 great-great-grandkids. A viewing will be held on Monday, May 9, from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, May 10, at 11:00 a.m. Both services will be at Green Acres Mortuary at 5830 W. Missouri Ave. in Glendale, AZ. Graveside service at Greenwood Memory Lawn at 719 N. 27th Ave. in Phoenix, AZ, will follow.

my mother annie coker was going to fly out two weeks ago to see aunt naomi. four days before she was to fly out she got sick and was unable to make the flight from texas. she loved aunt naomi and talked about her often. we both send our love and prayers to her family. love annie coker and cecilia coker (hollingsworth)

Naomi Ruth Dennis - my Granny has been a wonderful part of my life both growing up and as an adult. She has influenced my life in many ways just by beng my Granny. Her and Papa came to live with us over twenty-five years ago when papa first became ill. Never did I know how spcial she would be to me. We took many trips together to Texas, Las Vegas and Laughlin with mom (Aunt Margie). Little did I know that I would loose them both just outside of a year from each other. Love to all that has helped us through this journey. Love and miss ya Karen Elms
