Robert Ballou Obituary

Ballou, Robert (Bob) John
Robert John Ballou AA7WY returned to the arms of Jesus on May 6, 2011 at the age of 86. He was born in Lothair MT on August 4, 1924. He joined the Navy in 1941 shortly after Pearl Harbor and served on the LSM 19 in the South Pacific during WWII. Robert met the love of his life in New York while on leave in 1942. He and Jeanie were married in 1943 and spent 68 years together raising their family in Phoenix, AZ. After retiring from a career of custom cabinet making, he and Jeanie moved to Heber/Overgaard AZ where Robert built their retirement home from the ground up with his own hands, a fete of which he was very proud. He was an avid HAM radio operator and enjoyed his retirement years contacting fellow HAMs around the world. Robert is survived by his wife Jeanie, daughters Linda Duffy, Phyllis Ballou, Roberta Lloyd, grandchildren Darrin Duffy (Susan), Kevin Duffy (Terri), and Trisha Crance, great-grandchildren Katelyn, Kyle, Austin, Allyson, Josie, and Lane, sister Phyllis Ferris, cousin Paula (Carl) Scholter of Tacoma WA., niece Margaret (Bob) Schmitz of Arvada CO. and nephew Gordon (Sue) Halverson of Millbrae, CA., and his beloved dog Molly. Per his wishes, Roberts remains have been donated to International Institute for the Advancement of Medicine IIAM and no services will be held. His family and all who knew him will miss a truly great human being. Those wishing to do so, can make a donation to Banner Gardens Hospice in his name.
