Rita Shilts Obituary
January 25, 1920 - May 10, 2011. Wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend to all she met entered into the Kingdom on May 10, 2011. During her life she traveled much of the United States while her husband served in the United States Army and Air Force. Her later years were shared with her daughter and sister in California and Arizona. She is preceded in death by all of her friends and virtually all of her family. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia A. Johnson and husband, Darryl, Scottsdale, AZ; her son Jimmie L. Shilts and wife, Shirley, of Sugar Land, Texas; her grandchildren: Holly Johnson, Laura Shilts Gilbert and husband, Mike; Michael Shilts; Brian Hollowell and Jamy Foss; and James Shilts and wife Sunshine. Great grandchildren: Jimmie Lee Shilts II, Kaiden Joseph Hollowell, Kaitlyn Foss, Jeremy Reyes, Jason Rodick, Jessica Beck, Brittany Johnson and Alex Aguayo.
Services will be held at 7:30PM Thursday, May 12th at Messinger Mortuary, 7601 E. Indian School Road, Scottsdale, officiated by Reverend Michael Andrews. Interment will be held at 1:00PM Friday, May 13th at Paradise Memorial Gardens, 9300 E. Shea Blvd., Scottsdale.

Our love and prayers are with all of you at this time. Rita was a great, loving and funny woman who always made me smile. I remember her coming to the house and she would love to hold and pet our rabbit Mr. Bo Jangles. For hours on end he would sit in her lap while she pet him. It always cacked me up and she always had a smile from ear to ear. That smile will forever be with me!....I love you all and I pray for peace to be with you all in this time of grieveing.
