William Cavenee Obituary

Cavenee, William (Bill) Lee
80, of Casa Grande, Arizona passed away on May 10, 2011. William was born on April 21, 1931 in Ventura California to Cecil Willam and Virginia Belle Tonkins. He graduated from Ventura Junior College in 1951. Served in the Army in Korea from 1952 to 1953. Graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 1956 and received a Masters of Science in Microbiology from Oregon State Univ in 1961. Married Maurice Mickelson December 22, 1959. Always an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, he served in many leadership positions. He remained active in horse activities throughout his life. He and Maurice served as humanitarian missionaries in Cambodia. For the last 13 years he coordinated the LDS religious volunteers at all the various correctional facilities in Pinal County. He is survived by his wife Maurice Mickelson Cavenee, his four children Mikkel (Lori), David (Mary), Gina (Richard) Calderwood, Kristin (Dan) Palmer, and his 23 grandchildren. Services will be held on Saturday May 14th at 12:00 noon at the LDS Stake Center in Casa Grande located at 1555 N Colorado. Visitation will be held between 10:30 am and 11:45 am. Services by J. Warren Funeral Services. Please donate any contributions to the LDS Church Humanitarian Fund.
