William Telford Obituary

Telford, William Stanley
passed away on May 12, 2011. Bill was born March 17, 1935 in Phoenix, Arizona to William H. and Grace Telford. He graduated from Mesa High School in 1953, and went on to attend the University of Arizona. At the U of A he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon and a Phi Beta Kappa. Bill graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry in 1957 and then headed off to the Baylor University College of Dentistry in Texas. While attending dental school Bill met and fell in love with a sweet southern girl, Patricia Ann Roseborough. After a whirlwind courtship, they were married on December 29, 1959. The young couple moved to Wichita Falls, Texas, where Bill served his two-year commitment with the Air Force. Their daughter Barbara was born during this time. Bill and Pat then moved back to Mesa in 1963, where Bill joined his father's dental practice. As his dental practice grew, so did his family. Daughter number two, Sharon, came in 1963 followed by son Stan in 1965. Julie completed the family tree in 1971. During Bill's 40+ years as a dentist he was actively involved in the community including Rotary and as a founding member of Grace United Methodist Church. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Patricia, who passed away February 21, 2006. He is survived by his daughters Barbara (Joe) Hunsaker, Sharon (Al) Pajak, Julie (John) Inskeep, son Stan (Emily) Telford, seven grandchildren, one sister Erdene (Greg) McCleery, and a lot of cousins, nieces, nephews and hundreds of friends. A memorial service will be held at Grace United Methodist Church, 2024 East University in Mesa at 10:00 am on Monday, May 16, 2011. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Sunshine Acres. Meldrum Mortuary handled the arrangements.

Dear Family,
We were saddened to read of the death of your father. We knew him and your mother at Grace Methodist Church and he was our dentist until he retired. He always gave us updates on his children at our visits. You could tell he was very proud of all of you.

We were fortunate to have him as our neighbor and friend.
He was pretty private but we tried to engage him at any opportunity
and he always had a kind word and smile for us when we
cornered him.
I know he was proud of his family and he had good reason for that.
