Brandon Gongora Obituary
of Laveen , Arizona died Monday, May 9, 2011 at Trailside Point Park as a result of gunshot wound that occurred from a random shooter while playing basketball. Born in Tempe, Arizona June 9, 1992, to David Gongora and Roxanne Aguilar. Brandon was a full time student and a talented basketball player; he received his high school diploma in 2010 from Cesar Chavez High School. He was accepted at Job Corp in 2010 and was venturing into the field of Banking. Brandon was a part of the Job Corp Basketball team and enjoyed the game with anyone willing to play. Brandon loved laughing, smiling and just having fun. He was a sports fanatic whether it was physical activity or sitting at the house watching the game on television with family and friends. Brandon is survived by father, David, mother, Roxanne, brothers Randy, David and Daniel, sister Destany and her husband Christopher, nephew Christopher Jr.; Grandparents Manuel and Sandra Gongora and Joseph Aguilar; Uncles Greg and Jay and Aunts Lisa and Angelina , and cousins Rachel, Gregory and Eryk. Brandon is survived by several other grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. The visitation is 5pm-8pm, Wednesday, May 18th at West Resthaven Funeral Home at 6450 W. Northern Ave, Glendale, AZ. 85301. The Funeral service will be held at 3:00 May 19, 2011 at St. Augustine at 3630 N. 71st Ave, Phoenix, AZ. 85033.

Brandon, Man . . . where do I start. You were such a funny kid and always had me laughing at yours and Gregorys corny jokes. & We would watch the basketball games together while you and my dad or uncles would talk trash to eachother. We had some great times & I am going to miss them very much. You loved to play with my son every chance you got :) I will always and forever miss you cousin. Your OUR angel now so watch over us. We all know your in a better place . I love you .

Hi, my name is Brianna. I didn't really know Brandon, but from what I hear he was a great guy. I was there that night everything went down & I fell down right next to him. I can't even find the words to express what I felt that night. Being with him in his last few minutes made me feel like I've known him all my life so I can't even begin to know how the family is feeling. I cried for him and think about this person I never knew everyday & it makes me wish I did know him. I am so sorry for anybody who lost him in their lives. I know nothing I say can ease anyones pain but I know I will never forget him..

Roxanne I am so sorry for your loss I remember when he was just a little boy and I use to babysit all the kids he was always messing around and laughing. There are know words that I can say to make your pain go away but just keep faith in God and he will help you and the family through this difficult time.

I can't believe you're gone. I didn't know you for very long, but from the times I did get to know you, you were funny and nice lol (: You always took Greg to see me..encanto park, tempe marketplace (: You gave me a nickname "make it rain jane" haha no idea why, but when Greg told me I thought it was so funny. And you and Brieanna made prom fun (: truth or dare ha even though me & Greg didn't do any of the dares you picked out for us..
You are truly missed by your friends & family. You're in a better place now. Look out for everyone :) You're an angel now Rest in Paradise.

HI, MY NAME IS CHRISTINA GOMEZ AND I WAS A FRIEND OF BRANDON'S FROM JOB CORPS AS WELL AS A FELLOW CLASSMATE OF HIS. I DIDN'T KNOW HIM THAT WELL BUT THE LIL TIME I DID GET TO KNOW HIM WAS AN HONOR BECAUSE OF THE FACT THAT I GOT TO GET TO KNOW SUCH AN AMAZING YOUNG MAN :) ME AND HIM GOT TO BECOME REAL CLOSE TOGETHER AND I WOULDN'T TRADE THAT FOR ANYTHING. HE ALWAYS, ALWAYS MADE ME LAUGH AND SMILE AND OTHER'S AS WELL. IN THE LIL TIME I GOT TO KNOW HIM MADE ME FEEL LIKE I'VE KNOWN HIM FOREVER. I am so sorry for the loss of an obviously fine and well loved young man.I hope I am not out of line asking this, but were Brandon's organs donated? I ask only because a close friend of mine received a kidney the following day, that belonged to " a young man", is what the hospital told her. If she received Brandon's kidney, what a wonderful blessing that is! As sad as the situation was, someone else can live their life, thanks to Brandon. May God be with you and help ease your pain.

O' Mijo, we miss you so much the boys haven't stopped talking about you and how much fun you are and how you made each other laugh.. Your such a good boy! So much fun and silly willy! we have a lot of good memories, we'll keep them forever and all the pictures of yesterdays.. Easters and Christmases.. I can still remember the lil chunky boy with his glasses that in the blink of an eye turned in to the jolly green giant and is handsome as ever, has a girlfriend and is the best basketball player and ready to take on anyone, that is up for the challenge.. I can't believe that your gone, the phone call that night seemed to be a nightmare until i saw the look on the family's faces.. I guess nana needed someone close to her to feel closer to home, someone so tall as you to reach that box of oatmeal that she couldn't, she wanted someone to read a story too, someone to help her get her grocery list ready, don't forget the Tide and Clorox Bleach! ;) .. so she choose the perfect angel to be by her side for now, so until we meet again Lil Primo just know that we all love and miss you and you will never ever be far from our thoughts and funny times. So for you, as I read for nana that day we said our goodbyes.. I gave our family some words of comfort. I love you all and I am here for you all always and forever.
