Dennis Hilker Obituary

Hilker, Dennis Carl
Dennis Carl Hilker of Cave Creek passed away on May 9, 2011. Dennis was born on September 6, 1932 to Lester and Ulahla in Watertown Wisconsin. He moved with his family to Tucson, Arizona in 1950. As a young adult, Dennis joined the U.S. Navy and served his country during the Korean War. Upon completion of his military service, he returned to Arizona and continued his education at Arizona State University, earning his Master's Degree in electrical engineering. In 1957, Dennis married the love of his life, Yvonne Knight. He was employed by GE and Honeywell. A talented craftsman, Dennis loved woodworking, design and construction. Alongside Yvonne, he could often be found in the midst of one remodeling project or another. Dennis additionally enjoyed working with computers, literature, and travel with family and friends. He was also a ham radio operator. Dennis is survived by his wife, Yvonne K. Hilker; his sister-in-law, Peggy Hilker; nieces, Sheryl "Bunnie" Olson and Heather Hilker Bull (Joseph); nephews, Duane Darr, Steve, Keith and Kevin Clabaugh and David Hilker. He also has five grand-nieces, Lucretia Bunch, Cassy Olson, Ainsley, Evelyn and Madelyn Bull; and one grand-nephew, Joseph Bull. A private family memorial was held. The family suggests contributions to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018. Please visit www.hansenmortuary.com to leave online condolences.
