Memories and Condolences
for Theodore Jaros

Not sure what to say?

I wish to express my condolences to the Jaros family. When I was hired in Boston to work in SPS field sales, Ted was one of the first executives to reach out and welcome me and offer his support. One of my fondest memories is the time we took Ted sailing off Newport, R.I. and later presented a framed photo of him at the helm of a 40 footer, cruising the bay. Our customers greatly respected Ted, as did the sales team. He played a huge role in our efforts to position Motorola SPS as a leading supplier to our rapidly growing computer customer base in the early 80's. Ted was a class act and a true professional. I was honored to be associated with him.

Just having read of Ted's passing, I would like to add my sincere condolences to his family. I had the pleasure of getting to know Ted while we worked at Motorola and, from time to time, we bumped into each other during our retirement. Ted was truly a good man and I was honored to know him. Through our years together at Motorola and later in retirement with ROMEOs, I came to regard Ted as a true friend and gentlemen. His character and wit were always there to enjoy and learn from. Marcia and I extend our prayers and thoughts to Helen and family during this sad time. Be warmed by the thought that Ted was one of the truly "good guys" and waits patiently in Heaven to be reunited with you again.

Dear Jaros family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.
I first met Ted in January of 1977 during the Motorola SPD sales meeting. I was a brand new FAE from Buenos Aires and I had come to the USA for the first time to attend this meeting. During the same visit I vividly remember a dinner with Ted at the Glass Door restaurant in Scottsdale. He was our big boss, I was in awe, but he was still nice and patient, considering my English was very limited.
In 1983 I had the opportunity to work directly for Ted and it was a wonderful opportunity to learn from him. He was very savvy, and having him as an executive role model was a very unique opportunity. Ted knew more about sales and marketing than many of the people I met later after leaving Motorola.
In 1997 Mayra had surgery at Scottsdale Memorial Hospital and when it came time to check out it was Ted who as a volunteer showed up in her room with a wheel chair to help her leave the hospital. It was so good to see the same warm and gentle Ted that I had known in a different role. It didn’t matter what Ted was involved in, he always made a difference!
I consider myself very fortunate to have worked with Ted and to have him as a mentor early in my career. He will always be present in my memory as a prince of a guy.
Thank you Ted for having touched our lives, professionally and personally.

In this time of grief, it is so difficult beyond words to express our thoughts on the loss of Ted. We take comfort knowing that he was a man of such deep faith and love for all those whose lives he touched, with us being part of that. Wonderful memories of our visits to Phoenix, the Sunday boat racing trips, the lunches, the talks, the quiet times made visiting special. Ted was such a kind and caring person with an adventurous spirit, a warm smile, and a personality to match. We will love him always and he will be forever in our prayers.
