A. Lunden Obituary

Lunden, A. Charles (Chuck)
Taken home to be with our Lord on May 2nd. Chuck died peacefully at home with his family at his side. Born June 18, 1929 in Brookings, South Dakota to Alvin and Nadine Lunden. He graduated from Brookings High School and then moved to AZ in 1953 where he worked as a linotype operator for the Republic & Gazette. He also worked as General Manager of Kilgore Type Setting. He loved people and later spent the majority of his life in sales. He loved to sing and was an active barbershopper with the Phabulous Phoenicians and the Phoenix Orphous Club. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Verneil. Survived by his wife Nyla, 3 daughters, Linda, Deborah, Rebecca, granddaughter Carrie and 14 nieces and nephews. Even at 81, Chuck was passionate and active in aiding veterans in receiving government earned benefits for aid and dependence. In his desire to continue to give, he donated his body for cancer research. A celebration of his life will be held at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 4041 E. Phelps Rd, Phx at 1 PM on Saturday May 21st. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Cancer Research, Hospice of the Valley or Cornerstone Missionaries. Death is not extinguishing the Light, it is putting out the lamp because the Dawn has come.

It is June 4 and I just now heard of my uncle's passing. The last time I visited with him was when he called me to tell me that my grandma died, and the time before that was when I called him after my mom died - his only sister. I guess now their family is reunited in heaven, which is a nice thought for those of us that are left behind. I'm sure they are rejoicing! May God bless you, Nyla, Linda, Deborah, and Rebecca in your time of grief.

We have been blessed to have known Chuck. He was a faithful customer for 7 years. Chuck never stopped giving. Thanks to Chuck and his infinite wisdom and guidance we will have a safe fulfilled retirement. Through Chuck we were fortunate to meet and know his daughter Linda who also became an inspiration in out lives. God bless Nila and his extended family.
