Schroeder, Alvin E.
Alvin E. Schroeder, Beloved Father, Grandfather, Brother and Uncle died Friday May 13th, 2011 at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, MI. He fought a long courageous battle with Lung/Bone Cancer. He was Born at St. Josephs hospital in Detroit Michigan on Feb 27th, 1944. Al graduated from Kimball High School in Royal Oak Michigan and later moved his family to Arizona where he worked in the underground utilities business, serving both as employee & owner ( Cactus Underground Contracting ) for over 30+ years. He is survived by his 2 daughters and their husbands, Kathy & Jack Sombrio of Overgaard, AZ, and Sheri & Brad Vogel of Chandler, AZ., along with 5 grandchildren, Grant & Ashley Huntsman, Kelli & Joe Blastic, Justin, Brad and Brenna. Al is also survived by his Auntie Babe of Las Vegas and siblings Edward & Janis Schroeder, Shirley & Bob Clark, Barbara & Donald Jones and Harry & Sue Schroeder with their children. Al was preceded in death by his parents Leona & Harry Schroeder. His legacy will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew him. Viewing will be Sunday, May 15th 11am-3pm at Lynch & Sons Mortuary of Royal Oak, MI (248) 435-0660. AZ services will be held at a later date.

I remember going to visit him when he lived in AZ. My mom Loretta, Auntie Babe and my sister Nancy. We were at the AZ airport and he was picking us up; we were coming down the escalator and I spotted a nice looking man leaning against a pole I had to do a double take because he looked like Steve McQueen. We laughed the entire weekend...he was a great host and we always had fun. I will miss you Al. Love, your cousin Hazel
