Betty Millard Obituary

Millard, Betty Lorraine
Beloved wife, mother and grandmother, departed this life peacefully in the company of loved ones to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on May 15, 2011. Betty was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa on March 4, 1925. She lived and worked most of her life in Cedar Rapids, Iowa until the death of her husband in 1984. She moved to Phoenix at that time to be with her daughter and her family. She was preceded in death by her husband Wilfred Millard and her son-in-law John F Fitzgerald. She is survived by her daughter, Marie Fitzgerald and her granddaughter, Jennifer Fitzgerald. Betty worked most of her life in retail, working at Newman's Department Store and Killian's Department Store in Cedar Rapids. After moving to Phoenix she worked at Dillard's, PV Mall for several years. The last four years of her life she attended John C Lincoln Adult Day Care, which brought joy to her life every day. A visitation will be held on Tuesday May 17th from 5-8pm at Shadow Mountain Mortuary, 2350 E Greenway Rd. The funeral service will be held at Shadow Mountain Mortuary on Wednesday May 18 at 10:30am. In lieu of flowers please send donations to John C Lincoln Adult Day Care, 303 E Eva St, Phoenix, Arizona 85020, or Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E Flower St Phoenix, Arizona, 85014-5656.
