Velda Weiss Obituary
77, passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday, May 13, 2011 with her family by her side. Velda was born on July 18, 1933 to Daisy and Lewis Williams in Roanoke, Virginia later moving to Portsmouth, VA where she graduated from Cradock High School in 1950. She met her husband, Howard, at the Portsmouth, Virginia USO in 1953 and they married on June 12, 1955. Together they had two children, Carl and Lori and shared over 55 years of life and love together. A woman of God who loved her family unconditionally, always available to lend her ear and give a comforting word. Our family is forever changed. Velda leaves behind her husband, Howard; children Lori Weiss, Carl Weiss (Lana); four grandchildren, Megan, Mark, Caitlyn and Courtney. A Memorial Service will be held at North Phoenix Baptist Church 5757 N. Central Ave. on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 10:00am in the Chapel.
