J.E. Robbins Obituary

Robbins, J. E. "Bud"
89 of Scottsdale, AZ passed away of congestive heart failure on May 17th, 2011 at his home. The son of William and Ava Ricker Robbins, he was born November 14, 1921 in Orange Cove, California. He studied citriculture at Cal-Poly in San Dimus, CA until entering the US Navy, where he served for three years in the Pacific Theatre. After leaving the service, he had a long career in the citrus industry, in California and as co-owner of Central Citrus Company in Tempe, until his retirement. He is survived by Marian, his wife of 64 years, and a daughter Laura (Paul) Taylor. He was a past member of the Scottsdale Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol, Navy League of the United States, and a current member of Scottsdale American Legion Post 44. A celebration of his life will be scheduled at a later date. As per his request his cremated remains will be buried at sea by the US Navy. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley; 1510 E Flower Street, Phoenix, AZ 85014 Messinger Indian School Mortuary assisted the family.
