Vircelle Ambler Obituary

Ambler, Vircelle Mary
Vircelle Mary Ambler, a long-time resident of Arizona, died Monday the 23rd at Banner Thunderbird Hospital. Born in 1926 in Chicago Illinois, to Paul George Liesen and Isabelle Victoria (Heuel), Vircelle graduated from St. Gregory High School in Chicago, IL. She continued her education years later at Pomona College in Los Angeles and Phoenix Community College, specializing in para legal studies. Working as a stenographer prior to her marriage to Ralph J. She transferred to Phoenix in 1968 where she continued working for the Federal Government at the Veteran's Affairs Administration until her retirement. Vircelle was a good cook and got pleasure from people enjoying her culinary efforts. She was a very good seamstress and loved to do home crafts, including tole painting and home decorating. She especially delighted interacting with young children and was extremely fond of animals and had a menagerie of them throughout her life. Vircelle had a great spirit of adventure and explored many parts of the United States as well neighboring countries via car, plane train and ship. In recent years Vircelle was very active at Our Lady of Perpetual Church and the Guild in Glendale as well as other auxiliary Catholic Organizations including Blue Army. She enjoyed immensely the many friendships she forged there as well other wonderful groups like NARFE, Blind Buddies and the Talking Books Program. Vircelle is survived by her son Paul, San Mateo, CA, her daughter Lauren Keffer (Tony), Glendale AZ, her brother, Dr. Gerald Liesen (Mary), Geneva, IL and sister, Marjorie Plowman, Spring Lake, MI, four grandchildren, Shane (Lori), Savannah, Morgan and Marshall all from Glendale, AZ and several other nieces, nephews and cousins.
