Robert Charnetsky Obituary

Charnetsky M.D., Robert (Bob) C.
83, of Litchfield Park, AZ, passed away on Monday, May 23, 2011. He was born in Hinigaran, Negro Occidental, in the Philippine Islands on March 16, 1928. He attended university and medical school in Manila, before moving to the U. S . in 1955. He completed multiple residencies in surgery and general practice at hospitals around the Chicago area. There he met Lory, the love of his life, and they were married in Berwyn, IL. They moved to Arizona so that Bob could open his own private practice. They fell in love with the small town of Litchfield Park, and have remained there ever since. Bob practiced general medicine in the west valley for over thirty years. He was a dedicated charter member of the Estrella Rotary Club, with perfect attendance for 35 years. He was incredibly interested in computers and technology, and loved playing bridge with his friends. He was an avid reader, enjoyed listening to music, watching sports and movies, and taking pictures of his family. He loved chocolate and cream soda, LaTraviata and Carmen, James Bond, the Phoenix Suns, Harry Potter, and Apple computers. He is survived by his wife, Lory, three sons, John (Molly), David (Tracy), Paul (Susan), and one daughter, LeSha (Kim), his brother Victor (Letty) and nephew Victor Stephan. He was a proud grandpa to six grandchildren; Christopher, Anastasia (Jarred), Natalia (Tom), Jennifer, Laurel, and Aleksander, great-grandpa to Madison, Sophia, and Cameron, and "Tito" to a large extended family in the Philippines. He is preceded in death by his parents, Vladislav and Jovita, and brother Marino. Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 31 from 5p.m. to 8p.m with a Rosary recited at 7p.m., at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Community, 13720 W. Thomas Road., Avondale, AZ. Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, June 1 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations may be made to the Estrella Rotary Foundation, P.O. Box 121, Litchfield Park, AZ 85340 or to Hospice of the Valley 13575 W. McDowell RD., Goodyear, AZ 85338-2604. Arrangements entrusted to Queen of Heaven Mortuary.

I was a patient of Dr. Charnetsky's as a child and teenager. He gave me my first job when I was a junior in high school. Not only did I admire him as my doctor but also as my employer. He was a wonderful person and will be missed by all the lives that he touched. My thoughts and prayers are with the his family.

To the entire Charnetsky family-you are in my thoughts, and prayers. As I worked for Dr.Paul...I would always enjoy when Dr.Bob would come in just to say hello. Dr. Bob touched a lot of lives-his memory will always remain in those lives that he has touched.
