Robert (Rocky) Castaneda

On behalf of the entire Castaneda family, especially Robert and Betty, please accept our condolences on the passing of my Dad's cousin.
We only learned of his passing last night, and were unable to attend his services this morning.
When I called my father last night to give him the news, he related several stories of good times he'd had with all of the Mesa Gaona's, both in childhood and after they all had their own families.
Again, our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time.

OUR ENTIRE FAMILY IS SADDENED BY THE PASSING OF ART AND EARLIER OF MARY. YOUR FAMILY HAS BEEN DEAR FRIENDS OF OURS SINCE WE MOVED TO PHOENIX IN 1964. THEY WERE OF SUCH GREAT HELP IN GETTING US SITUATED TO THIS NEW CITY, AFTER ARRIVING HERE FROM NEW JERSEY. I'LL NEVER FORGET AND TELL THIS STORY TO THIS DAY ABOUT YOUR MOM SERVING ME MY FIRST TAMALE AND WITHOUT HER IN THE ROOM, AND ME TRYING TO BE A GRACIOUS GUEST, ATE THE ENTIRE TAMALE, HUSK AND ALL. I THOUGHT IT WAS KIND OF TOUGH AND CHEWY. IT WAS MY FIRST EXPERIENCE WITH MEXICAN FOOD. IT IS A MEMORY THAT WILL STAY WITH ME FOREVER. ALL OF US KIDS GREW UP WITH CHRIS, JOHN, RONNIE, AND TOOTS. YOUR PARENTS ARE NOW IN HEAVEN TAKING CARE OF TOOTS. IT HAS BEEN AN HONOR AND PRIVILEGE TO KNOW YOUR FAMILY AND THE WORLD WAS A BETTER PLACE WHEN THEY WERE ALIVE. AS A FELLOW VETERAN, I THANK AND SALUTE YOUR DAD FOR HIS SERVICE TO OUR COUNTRY. OUR SINCERE CONDOLENCES AND WELL WISHES TO YOU ALL. GOD BLESS!
