Jason Morton Obituary

Morton, Jason G.
12-5-1928 to 5-24-2011. Jason passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday afternoon. He fought a long and tough battle overcoming numerous obsticles that came his waythrough the years, however, this time, his heart was simply not strong enough to overcome the pnuemonia which overtook his lungs. Jason is survived by Edith, his beautiful, loving wife and true angel of 64 years. He is also survived by his two devoted children, Stephen and Carol....also, his adoring grandchildren, Kendra and Jason. His legacy will be one of loving husband, father, grandfather, friend, mentor and "World Class Champion" both on and off the courts. What an amazing life he had traveling the globe doing the thing that he enjoyed the most....playing tennis. We will all miss him deeply and are better people for having known him.

My deepest condolences to Edith and the entire family of Jason. I know he met Edith in Corpus Christi, Texas and was one of the first teaching professionals in the city.

I will never forget his great personality and his love for the game, the United State Professional Tennis Association and the tennis industry in general. He will be greatly missed by all his friends in Texas where he will always be remembered by his place of honor in the Texas Tennis Hall of Fame.

Thoughts and prayers to the Morton family on the passing of Jason. As mentioned in his obituary, he was a champion on and off the court...with his passing, tennis has lost one of it's greatest ambassadors. Jason, I will miss you.
