Norman, Dolores Joan
age 81, passed away peacefully at home in Mesa, AZ on May 22, 2011 with family at her side. Surviving family members include her children, Paul Norman (wife Tudy) of Mesa, AZ, Patty Craig (husband Steve) of Tualatin, OR, Jeanine Hall (husband Don) of McKinney, TX and Belinda Vaughan (husband Matt) of San Jose, CA; grandchildren Christi Larson (husband Trent), Rusty Norman (wife Jessie); Erin Craig; Ian and Tylar Smith, Joshua Hall (wife Mellissa); Audrey and James Vaughan; and great granddaughter Daphne Norman. She was preceded in death by husband Harlon Norman and her great granddaughter Alana Larson. Dolores was born August 31, 1929 in Columbus, Ohio and moved to Arizona in 1946 with her parents Richard and Grace Mott and brother Richard Jr. She attended Mesa High School and Arizona State College (now ASU) where she met Harlon, the love of her life. She enjoyed painting, cooking, genealogy and antiques and is a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She dedicated her life to family and traveled frequently to remain actively involved in her grandchildren and great granddaughter's lives. Her Christian faith always shined through in her kind, sweet personality. Dolores will be greatly missed by all those who had been blessed by knowing her. She will be buried with her husband at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona on Friday June 3, 2011. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow. Arrangements are entrusted to Messinger Indian School Mortuary in Scottsdale. Hospice of the Valley is greatly appreciated for their guidance and care. People wishing to honor Dolores may wish to contribute to the Phoenix Children's Hospital in loving memory of her great granddaughter Alana Larson.
