Walker, Robert Harold
Robert "Bob" Harold Walker loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away May 9, 2011 at the age of 81 due to complications of Parkinson's disease. At his passing Bob was surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 13, 1929 in Minot, North Dakota, graduated from Minot High School in 1947 and Minot State University in 1952 with BS/BA in math, science and education. In 1958 he received a Masters in Administration from the University of North Dakota. Bob married Marlys Vincent of Maddock, North Dakota, October 11, 1951. On December 13, 1951 he was drafted into the Marine Corps and served in both Japan and Korea. He was an educator and also worked for Silver Burdett Publishing Company. Bob finished his career in the Deer Valley School District in Phoenix Arizona teaching math and computers. Bob and his wife Marlys enjoyed traveling and visited all seven continents and many countries and islands. Bob is survived by his loving wife Marlys of Glendale AZ, sons Mark (Barbara) of Lake Tapps, WA and Greg (Michelle) of Santa Monica, CA and two grandsons Joshua and Jefferey of WA. He is also survived by two nephews, a niece, and several cousins. Bob was a member of Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church where a celebration of his life will be held in Christ Chapel, June 4, 2011 at 2 PM. 1500 W. Maryland Ave., Phoenix, AZ. The family wishes to thank his wonderful caregivers at T.L.C. Rosewood Manor and Hospice of Arizona.
