Watson, Beatrice June (Dobyns)
Bea was born in Peoria, Illinois January 15, 1941 to Clyde and Ethel Dobyns. The family moved to Golden, Colorado when she was a young child and was raised in that area. After graduating from Lakewood High School she began a career in typesetting working for Colorado Graphics and later the company merged in with the Sentinel Newspapers. She became the supervisor of the typesetting dept. and worked at that company for 25 years. She had two sons Rod and Todd Ross from her first marriage. She met Harold B. Watson who also had a career in the printing industry. They were married June 10, 1980 and one year later they then started their own custom typesetting company in Lakewood. By the end of 1990 they decided to move to Arizona for the warmer climate. She worked as a secretary at the Tempe Baptist Church for a few years and then as a secretary for the Micom Circuit Manufacturer. She then retired from working in 2002. She enjoyed returning to Colorado two or three times a year to visit with her children who were married. Each son had four children whom she dearly loved. One of her most entertaining past times here in Arizona was playing bingo and playing the slots. Bea and Harold had 31 beautiful years together. She became ill with cancer in August of 2008, taking many treatments of various types to fight the cancer. Her strong will to fight it finally ended on May 29 at her home with Harold by her side. She is survived by her husband Harold, step daughter Shonna McGuire, married to Joe McGuire of Nathrop, CO and a grandson Joey McGuire of Westminster, CO. Bea's son Rod and Michele Ross with grandchildren, John, Aaron, Kayla and Andrew of Littleton, CO. Bea's son Todd and Suzanne Ross, with grandchildren Jessica, Christina, Samuel, Josiah all of Bennett, CO; sisters Sandra Sellers, Diana Bodkin, brothers Jack, Jim, Bobby, Mike Dobyns of the Denver area; niece Betty Jo Guerrero of Ft. Worth, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Ethel, a sister Madonna Davis, and a brother Billy Dobyns. A Celebration of her Life will be at 3:00 pm, Thursday, June 2, 2011, with a visitation from 2-3 pm at Hansen Chapel of Prayer, 108 N. 56th St., Mesa, AZ 85205. To leave online condolences, visit
