Lamberto Romo Lujan Obituary
99, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family on May 29, 2011. He was born on June 16, 1911, in Santa Ana, Sonora, Mexico, the seventh of eight children of Manuel Romo and Antonia Lujan Romo. He was married to his cherished wife, Belia, the mother of two of his daughters, for 65 years, until her passing in September 2010. He is survived by his four daughters Nydia (José) Acosta, Rosa Maria (Jaime) Castañeda, Maria Esther Rodriguez, and Gloria (Fernando) Cubillas, 19 grandchildren, and 41 great-grandchildren. He was a well-respected and sought-after rancher, farmer, and gardener in Mexico, Arizona, and California, before retiring to Phoenix. Many reverently referred to him as "Don Lamberto." He loved being outdoors, tending to his garden, working with his hands, and watching the Diamondbacks. He will best be remembered for his warm smile, compassionate heart, and love of family. He will be missed by all who knew him. A visitation will be held at 2:00 p.m. on June 2 at Greer-Wilson Funeral Home, 5921 W. Thomas Rd., Phoenix.
