Dolores Cordova Obituary
a passed away May 25th, 2011 in Vancouver, WA at the age of 79. Dolores was born to Lawrence and Anaise Mayer on April 20th, 1932 in Clifton, Kansas. Dolores married Bradford Cordova September 23, 1954. She found a love for teaching and obtained her degree from Marylhurst College in Portland Oregon. She taught fourth grade for 24 years at Gold Dust Elementary in Paradise Valley, AZ. Dolores most enjoyed hearing of the future successes of her students, including her student that went on to win a gold medal at the Olympics. She had a passion for traveling and politics. She enjoyed time with her family and watching an intense basketball game with her favorite team. She is survived by her sisters, Janis Herink, Ileene Donnely: Sons, Steve and Kevin Cordova: Daughter, Kelley Burt: son in law Brian Burt, daughter in laws Stacey and Carmen Cordova: Grandchildren, Tara, Kendall and Jeremy Cordova, Tracy Armerding, Jamie Shafer and Bonnie Burt: Great Grandchildren, Helaena Armerding, Ryder, Oliver and Royal Shafer A Celebration of Dolores Life will be held Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 12:00pm at Northtown Clubhouse; 2202 E. Waltann Lane, Phx. AZ 85022. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to an educational charity of your choice. I taught with Dolores for many years. We also socialized at lunch after she and I retired. I am sorry to read of her passing but I have my memories which I will treasure.

To Ms. Cordova's Family: I was a student at Cholla in the late 70's and remember Ms. Cordova as if she were my 4th grade teacher! While I wasn't in her class, she was always friendly and supportive to all students. I am so sorry for your loss and keeping your family in my prayers.
