John Lee Obituary

Lee, John Joseph Sr.
John Joseph Lee Sr. passed away, surrounded by a devoted family, on May 29, 2011 in Phoenix, AZ. He was born in Akron, Ohio on June 6, 1930. He worked for Westinghouse Electric Corp. for over 35 years, retiring in 1993. After retirement, macular degeneration may have hindered his ability to read but not his curiosity. He discovered the internet and with the aid of enlarging devices spent countless hours surfing the web and amazed that the world was at his finger tips. He was a loving husband and father and we will miss him terribly. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Sally, children, Lana (Tim) LeDuc, Anna (Clete) Krumm, Janet (Craig) Morris and John, Jr. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandsons and one on the way. He is preceded in death by his father, George W. Lee, his mother, Gladys Ruth Parrish and his step-father, Earl D. Parrish. Graveside services for family and friends will be held June 9, 2011 @ 9:00 a.m. at Resthaven Park Cemetery-East, 4310 E. Southern, Phoenix.

Auntie Sally, Lana, Ann, Janet and John. Our prayers are with you. I always tell my children and grandchildren about days on the Verde river waiting for Uncle John to return with fish and eating Ricearoni at the camp site. I miss all of you. May God Bless Uncle John. Gilbert Hernandez and Family San Antonio, Texas

Papa was quick-witted, funny, and undeniably handsome. He got better looking everyday! Papa raised a loving and warm family that is a true testament to his character as a man and his legacy that will live on. My thoughts and prayers are with all of Papas friends and family who will miss him so much...especially to his Davey-dodd who loved his Papa as much as any grandson could.
