I am so, so very sad to hear about Mike. I was trying to find him to get in touch when I discovered this news. I left it too late. Mike and I had a 5 year life adventure together.
We met in Whitehorse on Xmas Eve 1978. That following summer we moved to Vancouver for a year and then back to Faro,Yukon. After a year we left for the sunny B.C. Okanogan and then later for Montana. What an amazing guy he was. His smile was as big as the moon and his heart more so. My family adored him, as did I. Ruth, Ralph , Jacque, Billy I am so very sorry for all of you. I know how much Mike was adored by all. I will be in touch. I have some great pictures of Mike. I would like to share some of my memories with you. Darcey, you must be devastated. You were lucky to have met him and had him in your life although not long enough. Take care everyone. Love and Hugs Patty (Stoddard)

I can't read this without feeling an everlasting sense of loss. Mike was like a brother. He always had time for his friends...even when he was in the middle of a busy workday. I miss just hanging out, laughing, arguing, the great pool parties...you were lucky if you could call Mike your friend.
You will always be missed...Damn!! Why did you have to go so soon?

Ralph, Ruth and family,
We are so sorry to hear of your great loss. Sometimes life just isn't fair! Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this sad time. Losing a father at 49 and a brother at 52 was really hard for me but time seems to ease the pain.

To the Lightle family and his beloved Darcey. I have known mike for 25 years we did business together and as with many turned into a cherished friend. He had a smile that was bigger then life and a compassion for others that was such an inspiration to all that new him. Although I never met his family I felt as though I new you all because of the stories he told. He so valued and loved you all and felt truely blessed to have the closenss that you all shared. Darcey he spoke of you often and it was obvious you brought great joy to his life. The legacy that Mike leaves with all of us is a life well lived. He realized what was important in life the love of family and the compassion for his fellow man. The memory I will carry with me is to meet everyone with a smile and see the good in others. A star shines brighter in the sky tonight! Although we say so long for now we knopw that we will meet again in a much better place. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.

Ralph, Ruth and Family Our deepest sympathy for your tremendous loss. Michael was lucky to have such great parents and caring family.
An articulate person once said, "Life is not fair, but God is good". Michael lived the unfairness part and now will enjoy the goodness in heaven. We hope he is playing 18 holes or on a good trout stream right now. God Bless..

How sad this day is. I didn't know Michael, but knowing his parents Ralph and Ruth he had to be a wonderful person. I've been thinking of Mike and his family since his passing and during his fight with his sickness. This isn't supposed to happen to parents; losing a child in your lifetime. It is at this time family needs all the strength they have from God, family, and friends to help them get through this very hard time.
Love to you,
Ron and Karrol
