Al was the BEST Grandpa. My boys, Josh and Alex, were extremely lucky to not only have Al as their Pappy, but to also have him nearby and very involved in their lives. He played games with them. He taught them to ride a bike and most recently to drive a car. Al would have done anything for my boys. It’s very sad that they will not have the chance to give back to him as I know they wanted to as they become young men. Al was the best role model a mother could ever ask for. He was the kindest man. He was a great father-in-law. I never stopped loving Al even after Paul and I split up. And I am glad that I had the chance to tell him so. He was always there for me no matter what. I am proud to have known him and sad to have lost him. The world will never quite be the same without him and so many people who had not yet met him have lost out on a great experience. My heart goes out to all of Al’s Family and Friends. And thank you Paul…for if you hadn’t brought me into your family I would have never had the pleasure of knowing such a great man. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time. Peace be with him and you. Until we meet again Al…God Bless!

Just a note of sympathy for all the family and a twinge of sadness in the loss of Albert. It's been over 40 years since our paths crossed, but as the sister-in-law of Al's brother, Bill, I remember the good, generous and handsome man in his youth.

Al was a great uncle to me as I was growing up. Being my fathers twin brother, and not yet having a family of his own way back then, my sister and I had an additional "father" for many early events in our lives. I remember him being an integral part of my sisters and my life as we were growing up. A story much later.. and one of My favorite stories, is when my youngest daughter, Jacqueline, was around 7, my mom and dad took her and my eldest daughter, Jenna, along with them to a bowling league that Albert also belonged to. Jenna (being 6 years older than Jackie) was teasing Jackie, as older sisters do, saying that Jackie was adopted. Jackie went up to whom she thought was her Grandfather Fred, not knowing it was his twin Albert, and starting talking to him prefacing it with "Grandpa". Albert said "I'm not your Grandfather" and Jackie said "oh my God, I am adopted".... this is a story as Jackie often tells it when we mention Albert.
God Bless him and give him peace.
