Dean, Ronald Joseph
Ronald Joseph Dean of Scottsdale, 69, passed away peacefully June 5th. He is survived by his adoring wife of 44 years, LuAnne, his three daughters, Traci Martin (husband John), Tricia Bankey (husband Jason), and Tami Smith (husband Bryan), 10 grandchildren, mother Gloria Dean, sister Pam Spencer, and brother Bill Dean. Ron served in the Marine Corps for 5 years including two tours in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged with a ranking of Sergeant. Ron was a Chicago native, moving to Scottsdale in 1966 and joining the Scottsdale Police Department a year later. He retired in 1988 as a Lieutenant. Ron was Town Marshall of Fountain Hills for 5 years. His other affiliations/accomplishments include membership in the Blue Knights, member of Maricopa County Sheriff's Posse, VFW #3513 Post Commander and American Legion #44. His favorite hobbies were riding his Harley, reading westerns, traveling and spending time with his grandchildren. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening, June 8th from 5:00-8:00 PM with a rosary at 7:00 PM at Messinger Mortuary, 7601 E. Indian School Rd. in Scottsdale. Funeral mass will be held Thursday, June 9th at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 7655 E. Main St. in Scottsdale with committal services following at 12:30 PM at The National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N.
Cave Creek Rd. in Phoenix. A luncheon reception will be held in Ron's honor following committal services at 2:00 PM at VFW Post #3513, 7220 E. Wilshire Dr. in Scottsdale. Arrangements entrusted to Messinger Indian School Mortuary.

Morning Dean Family,
I cannot get over how many years have passed since Ron, passed away. It seems like forever that we had a chance to visit with you ladies in AZ. Time stops for no one. I had also forgotten that Ron passed on sister Peggy's birthday so happy thoughts for June 5th.
Just wanted you cousins to know I am thinking about you.

You are in our thoughts and prayers as you travel down this path of healing. Ron will be greatly missed by all. Keep his memory alive by talking about him and telling stories of the fun and crazy things he did. We obviously took one of his long car rides yesterday. Dear Lucy & Family,
I was so sorry to hear about Ron's passing. It has been so many years since I have seen you it seems so unreal. I always look forward to Ron's drive to IL & visit with my brother Russ & any family member who happens to stop by. Will miss his visits.
