Loved the Phoenix Suns, Jayhawk Basketball, peanut butter, spending time with his family and friends, attending Mesquite High School Band events, tinkering with cars in the garage and puttering around the house. Survived by his loving wife, Wanda, son Barry Burkhead of Ahwatukee, daughter Lisa Matthews & husband Mark of Gilbert, grandkids Connor, Cassidy, Hayden, Cydney & Jacob, brother Dean Burkhead of Lawrence, KS., and sister Carole Ralston of Buckhannon, WV. His favorite charity was UMOM and all donations were given to that organization in his name. It's been a year since you have been gone, but seems like yesterday, We miss you as you have left a large empty space in our family that can never be filled. However, we are comforted by knowing that we will all be together again some day. ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK!
