Clare Elizabeth Morris

Clare Elizabeth Morris obituary

Clare Morris Obituary

Morris, Clare Elizabeth
20, of Colorado Springs passed away on May 27, 2011. "Clare Bear" was born to Robert and Angela Morris in Colorado Springs. She attended Madison Elementary School, Irving Middle School, and Mitchell High School. She was an accomplished clarinet player, played saxophone, was on the MHS Swim Team, and was a Girl Scout for 11 years. Always wanting to make her own way, Clare took on a couple of food-service jobs as soon as she got her driver's license before finding her niche in retail. She worked in the women's shoes and fine jewelry departments at JC Penney in the Springs and in Tempe, AZ. Her joyful personality and ability to make others feel good about themselves made her an exceptional sales employee. In fact, Clare was just selected for yet another customer service award her last week at work. Upon graduation from high school, Clare embarked on her college journey in Justice Studies at Arizona State University. She was also pursuing minors in Women's Studies and World Health, along with a certificate in Religious Studies. She was scheduled to graduate from ASU in 2012 and planned to go to Law School. She was absorbing as much knowledge as she could and was extremely concerned about people around the world and that justice was available to all. Clare volunteered with the ASU Student Alumni Association and provided many hours of service to programs including Invisible Children, a movement seeking to end the conflict in Uganda and to stop the abduction of children for use as child soldiers. She also volunteered with Project Connect, an initiative of Lutheran seminaries; and Hayman Fire Relief, which helps victims of a huge forest fire northwest of Colorado Springs in 2002 caused by arson. Clare changed the lives of all of us. She impacted everyone she came in contact with. She carried a spirit of adventure and vibrancy that each person in her life, each person she met, was immediately drawn to and then couldn't help but become a part of her "in the moment," bigger- than-life world. All of the words spoken about Clare - used to describe her - bubbly, confident, effervescent, unafraid, genuine, remarkably gifted - all of these and so many more, are not merely superlatives. Clare was all of this - is all of this - and more. Judging no one, she was infectious and loved others beyond words. Clare was life personified. Clare is survived by her parents and brother Treye. A Celebration of Life for Clare will be held at Holy Apostles Catholic Church in Colorado Springs, CO, Wednesday, June 22 at 11:00 am. Allen Funeral Home & Arizona Cremation - Mesa. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in memory of Clare Morris to the Alumni Association Legacy Scholarship at the ASU Foundation, 300 E. University Drive, Tempe, AZ 85281-2033.

Morris family,
I knew your daughter back in high school.. In fact we were in the band(marching and wind ensemble) together. Even though I was a few years older than her so I only got to spend one year with her, I always remember her full of life and energy. She was a wonderful girl and I am deeply saddened to hear of her passing. I pray that God will be with you during this time. You are in my prayers and thoughts.
Sincerely,

That is such a beautiful, and accurate picture of Clare. She was amazing. The English language isn't big enough to express our love for her or our sorrow at her passing. All we can do is hold onto the memories of our times together until God reunites us,

Angela and Mary-

I'm thinking of you during this very difficult time in your lives. Clare was a beautiful young woman inside and out. I read her ASU profile and was not suprised to read that she was such a loving and caring person. She had wondeful role models in both of you. Angela she looks so much like you, you could really pass for sisters.
I pray the good Lord keeps you in his loving care and brings you comfort with your memories.
After my mom passed, I had gotten to the point where I thought I just couldn't make it one more day. As I layed in bed crying myself to sleep for yet another night-the Lord gave me the most beautiful video of my Mom. It seemed like forever but I'm sure it was just minutes. It brought me so much comfort and I knew then she was with her Heavenly Father and I would see her again one day. As you will one day rejoice in Heaven with Clare.

Love,

Pam/NicuNurse

Clare Clare Clare... we had a unique relationship. We met you at the ASU-Colorado meet n greet in denver. Her and I were the only 2 from the springs and we connected almost instantly. We all talked about what kind of music we listened to and when it got to Clare she said " yea. I like lil wayne. I know all of his songs". Everyone else was shocked that this innocent little girl could be so rough. But I looked at her n shook my head and said, "yea. she's from Mitchell, haha." The c-springs duo at ASU. Even at ASU, we would still joke about how Doherty and Mitchell never got along and how our friendship was never gona work because of it. haha. But it never failed, every time I asked what she was doing, she was always doing something and never hesitated to invite me along. I remember one talk we had with Amber Garcia Wayman in her basement. We talked about how goodbyes were depressing and final, sounding like you would never see the person again. So I told them from then on I will no longer say goodbye. Instead, see you later was more fitting, in anticipation that one day you will see that person again. So Clare, I'll hold down ASU for the Springs and in the mean time, in between time, I'll see you later.

OGO--I miss you so much and my heart just aches. I will carry you, and the delight you brought me, deep within my heart. I love you more than I can even hope to express. OFO

"I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make. Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories. We find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared their love." Leo Buscaglia

Oh clare, buddy. You were such an awesome young lady. You really really made this world a better place to live in. You are one of these people that make this country and world a place worth fighting for. Your perpetual optimism brought joy to any situation and your laugh and cheer was as infectious as any. Im really sorry to see you g...o. But I will see you again on the other side of those gates cuz I know you are there.

Mr. and Mrs. Morris,

I knew your daughter when I attended Mitchell High School and remember her character and positive attitude to this very day. I am sorry for your loss and you and your family will be in my prayers.

I knew Clare because she came up to visit Leigh Ann and Chet Collett to be with her cousins in the summer-and I remember how beautiful she was-sparkling blue eyes and blond hair; always smiling, laughing and living large!! So many tears have been shed by her cousins, relatives, and friends, a testament to how much she is missed and loved! May the Holy Spirit comfort all of her family with a peace that passes all understanding and may they know she is in heaven's domain now-she brings that joyful heart to heaven and will continue her work there in a way we cannot understand now.

Unfortunately I never had the chance to meet you, but through all of the memories your friends have shared with me I feel like I have. You've touched a lot of people's lives. I have heard the same thing from every one that knew you, and that is you made an impact. You taught them something about life, and death. Even though I never personally met you; you've taught me the most valuable lesson that I think I could have ever learned. Live every day like it's your last. Leave no stone unturned, leave no mystery unexplored... 'cause you never know what tomorrow has in store. Your beautiful smile will live on in every single person's heart you've touched. You made an impact, even on a complete stranger.

Knowing Clare was a joy and a treasure. She reminded me so much of my nephew that we lost last may (not much older than my Clare Bear).

As with my nephew, I have comfort in knowing that Clare is with the "big Kahuna" and is dancing her heart out and skipping around spreading laughter and light.

I don't have the right words to help you through this devastating time for you, but be assured that Clare has left an indelible mark on the world and has touched and inspired people.

Going to work will not be the same without having Clare's warm and happy personality to look forward too, but she left me with lots of wonderful memories to keep with me and share.

I hope that you find the peace to move through the day and accept that Clare's job was done here and she was called home to be given another purpose.

Sending you back some of the love and light that Clare shared with me to use in your time of sorrow.

I have not spoken to Clare since we were in High School, but from what I remember of her she was a beautiful soul. She was always smiling, and laughing. She was always caring to those around her, and ready to lend a helping hand. I felt incredibly lost when I heard the news of her death, and felt regret for not being better friends with her.
