Debra Wilson Obituary

Debra Annette Wilson June 9, 1956 Jan. 19, 2006 Debbie was born June 9, 1956 in Bakersfield, Ca. Debbie attended Rosedale Middle School and graduated from North High School. To know Debbie was to love her. She was a person that never stopped moving, giving off her positive energy everywhere she went. Debbie was the owner of The Willoughby & Co., decorating was her passion in life. To make a room look spectacular was a God given talent. When nobody else could see it, she could. To become a successful business woman was something she thought was just one of her wildest dreams. To her surprise, as soon as people learned of her talents, she was in demand. One of her yearly highlights was the work she did helping decorate the Bakersfield Showcase Home. Words cannot even describe the love she had for what she did. Work to her was not work, it was play. What better way to make a living than doing something you love. She enjoyed the friendships that she built with her clients, and, you know if you were a client of hers you were her friend. Though her work was such a passion it did not hold a candle to the passion she had for her family. A devoted wife, a loving mother and a Granny for the first time, and soon to be for the second time. Survived in life by her Husband Charlie Wilson, her five children, son Charlie Wilson and wife Mica, son Darin Meadors and wife Nichole, daughter Jaime Meadors, son Lance Wilson, son Joey Wilson, grandaughter Hailey Meadors, Father Kenneth Hylton wife Brenda, Mother Georgia Hylton, brother Terry Hylton and wife Sheri, Grandmother Zeflee Thompson. As well as many Good Friends. Though she will not be here physically, she will live in our hearts and our homes forever. Chapel services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 24, 2006 at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be Monday 4 to 8 p.m. at Hillcrest Mortuary. I had the honor of having this beautiful woman in my family. No one I have ever met had a heart as big as Debbie's. She has taken children into her home and heart and helped raise them; she has been a devoted wife and mother, and one of the dearest of family members. We did not spend a lot of time together, but the time we did spend was cherished. My love and prayers go out to my cousin, Charlie Wilson, and all the kids. You are always in my thoughts.

I just wanted to say that Debbie was a big part of my life. I meet her in 1999. In that short time she showed me that I deserve my life just as it is. She worked hard in all asspects of life. I love what she has given so freely and it doesnt cost a dime. I want Jamie to know I am here when ever she needs to talk. That is something her mom was for all of us.

Thanks to my higher power I know Debbies in a better place today.

It is so difficult to say goodbye to such a dear friend. Debbie was truley an angel on earth. Her smile was contagious and her huge heart was always giving. I will never forget all the many times our families were able to share together...laughing, loving and just simply enjoying each others company. These times will never be forgotten but deeply missed. I will never forget how lucky I was to have such a loving, talented, warm hearted and giving person in my life. I am truley thankful that the Lord brought this wonderful woman into my world. She thaught me so much and I will cherish all the memories I have of her. To know her was to love her and to be able to call her my friend was a true privlege. I love ya Deb!

How do you say good-bye to a friend. It seems like a dream for me. Deb and I had a friendship that wasn't quite the normal friendship. We might not have talked for weeks or even months because of family or work, but everytime we connected, it was like we just talked yesterday. With all the changes in our lives good or bad we were there for eachother to talk it over with. If we didn't agree, it didn't matter we supported eachother in anything we did. We would vent our frustrations to eachother, and then laugh about how stupid we are. Deb and I had respect for eachother, never said a mean word to eachother. We just loved eachother unconditionally. There will never be a minute , hour or day that goes by that I won't think about my only and very best friend. We will see eachother again someday. Until then I love you Deb. Your friend Becky.

Debbie was not only my Mama, but my best friend, my teacher, and my whole world. She was there when I needed to laugh, taught me how to love unconditionally, held me when I cried, and loved me without any doubts of who I was. She made me who I am today, and I can finally say that I love the person that I am, so for that I Thank her. To have a Mama like her, is to know Love, not only for me but many other children that needed a Mama. Our door was always open for anyone in need of a hug. She was successful, and always dependable for her children, husband, her mother and anyone in need of her, except for when it came to work, cause she said she was an artist and artist were undependable, and unreliable as far as always being on time. In a nutshell she is irreplaceable, there will never be another like her. But I will carry her and our memories in my heart and in my mind until I meet her again someday.

Debbie was such a sweet and kind hearted woman. She blessed my mom as a dear friend. Her son Joey has been a life-long friend to my son. I admired her talent & passion in decorating and was envious of her for doing what she loved so much. She was so full of life and always had a smile on her face. She will truly be missed. Her memory will live on in many of our homes as we look at the beautiful arrangements and decorating she did. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the family. Love, Gary, Janette, Lindsey & Darek

Debbie was a true friend and the best of neighbors. Her fiesty passion for life was always admired. Debbie was always there with a shoulder or an ear. She was the friend you could always run to.We will miss her smiling face and her witty way of yelling across the street. Life on our street just won't be the same. We love and miss her very much. Debbie was a wonderful friend and sister-in-law. I had the joy of working with her. Her energy was contagious and her talent was endless. There was nothing she could not do. If you have not used the color black, Debbie has not been in your home. She could do so much with that color. She loved her clients and they loved her. She never considered what she did as work. Debbie just played and had a great time doing what she loved.

She wanted everyone to feel that they could have nice things, even if it ment "decorating on a shoestring budget".

Debbie was more like a sister than a sister-in-law. We shared so much. I always told her that someday I would write a book about all our secrets and funny memories. I had to promise not to do that, so instead I will keep those things close to my heart and take them with me.

I will truly miss my friend and sister. The memories we had together are irreplaceable. I am lucky to have a part of her not only in my heart, but in my home as well.
