Just yesterday I talked to a friend telling her that I was not to sure how or why I felt so much more deeply touched by our friends passing. Much more deeper than any other passing that I,ve been through. These few simple words that she said to me explained all these feelings. Iron Head was everywhere with us, at all times. When he wasn't with us, he was with our brother. When he wasn't with our brother, he was with our friends. When he wasn't with our friends, he was with our children. When not with our children, he was with his family. No matter where he was, or who he was with at the time, Mike was always somewhere in our lives. Mike WILL always be with us. Debbie, Ed, and Mrs. blackmon, I will ALWAYS, ALWAYS remember the love Mike (Iron Head) had for life.

We love you mike!!!

I remember back in 1973 my mother and father asking my brother and I if we wanted a little brother or sister. Well my response was no. Of course this did not matter. On October 3 1973 Michael Lee Blackmon was born. I was never really into babies (and still not) but he started to grow on me and became my littlest brother. Unfortunately on April 9, 2005 this life that took some getting use but had become so close to was taken. Just when you think a part of life has come to end I found that I was still learning more and more about the man that was my littlest brother. I always knew my brother was a popular guy but could not have imagined the number of lives he came into contact with and that were touched by his personality and thirst for life enough to show their respect. The outpouring of love and support from his friends has made this difficult time somewhat bearable. I feel as long as they have stories to tell and memories to share he will always be with me.

I am still finding out about my littlest brother, Michael Lee Blackmon and hope that journey never ends.

Thank all of you for your love and support.

Mike and I went to school together from kindergarten to graduation. He was one of my

best friends growing up. Shortly after graduation my family moved to Alabama and we lost

touch. My mom and I were just talking about Mike last week, when he and I took speech

class together at Norwood Elementary. I just found out today what happened to Mike and I

am in shock. This past weekend I completed a Beginners Motorcycle Riding Course, so as

you might guess, I am very shaken by the news.

To the Blackmon family, my thoughts and prayers are with you always. Remember the

good times. Mrs. Blackmon, you had the most wonderful son and he will be missed.

To anyone who rode with Mike, keep on riding in his memory but be safe and be seen.

Mike, I have never forgotten you and I never will!

I am so sorry for your loss. Mike was a great friend to my family and I. My cousin Mike Sowers and Mike were like brothers and it was my great fortune to be called Mikes friend. I feel lucky that my cousin and I got to spend Easter Sunday and April 4th evening with him. I have a vivid memory of those 2 evenings. Mike had a huge heart and touched the hearts everyone he met. I thank him for giving me an opportunity to be his friend.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Blackmon family and all of those close to Mike. He was taken too soon. I still got to see Mike from time to time at the animal hospital and he was always as funny and caring as he was in high school. Mike was like a big brother to everyone. I was shocked and deeply saddened to hear of his passing. He will be greatly missed.

I'd been thinking the past few days how sad it is that Michael would leave us during this time of rebirth and renewal; now I think there could have been no better time. If we could think of his passing as a planting of his Spirit, and turn our grief and sadness inward to nurture and grow that little part of him that he's left each of us, then we could carry his loss so much more easily. Nurture his memory by living every day with purpose. Tell the people whom you love just that. Have a little fun. Sing as if no one can hear you. Be truly happy. He'll be watching.

The sun is still shining, while the moon waits it's place. God took Michael's hand, then gently kissed his face. As they reached for the stars, it was so beautiful by far. Michael's gone home to the place he first come, To our Father and Saviour, Eternity has begun.

Although I didn't get the chance too often, I always enjoyed it when I was able to spend some time with Mike. Every memory I have of him involves a funny story, some joke, or a reminder of a hilarious event (remember "senior week"?).

Mike was one of those guys who could always bring a smile to your face. He enjoyed life, and made it more enjoyable for those around him.

Mike, you will truly be missed.
