I met Larry a couple of years ago, when Charlie moved into his shop. Larry was always helpful with advice he gave on any problems we were having with our cars. He would always give Charlie a hard time and then wink @ me when he was leaving. He will be missed. God Bless. Bill

I met Larry waaaay back around 1972. I remember all of his cars vividly and followed his career with interest. Even used some of his old parts third hand. In fact, I think I still have the front wheels and tires from the station wagon in the basement. Not sure which was my favorite. The Corvettes maybe. Certainly not the Malibu. Not the Opel (how did he ever fit in that thing?). I guess it was the jet black Nova. The finest all black race car I've ever seen.
Thank you Larry. For always representing our sport and our community as a gentleman.

Oure deepest sympathy to the Kopp family . We went to school with Larry at Overlea and until recently lived in the same neighborhood with Larry and Susan. He was such a happy and pleasant guy, I could always count on seeing him when I took my walks. I will miss that. We are all better for having known him. I first met Larry in 1966 when he was driving his Dad's tow trucks. Ever since his days of racing the "Mad Man", 1957 Chevy I have followed his racing career. The last time a saw him was at the National Event in Ennis, Texas in 1998. Seeing Larry again, after many years, and meeting Susan, for the first time was a memorable experience that I will never forget.
Larry you may be gone but you will never be forgotten. Rest in peace!

I was blessed the day I met Larry & Sue 18 years ago when I became their neighbor. You truly could never meet two nicer people. They always had a smile and a wave for anyone and everyone!
Thank you Larry, for all of the times you mowed the lawn because my rider was down and for all of the snow plowing you did during the winter months. I was truly grateful even though you said it was "no big deal". I felt blessed and honored that you made it a point, as sick as you were, to attend the most important day in my life...my wedding. (I think you & Sue just wanted to make sure I did it!)
Bud & I will miss you terribly. Our hearts are in mourning especially for Susan, your family and the thousands of friends who will now feel an awful void in their lives because of your absence.
Sue, please remember that if you ever need ANYTHING, we are only footsteps away...that's what friends and neighbors are for. We pray that God will give you the strength to get through your loss.
With Love & Sympathy,
Deb & Bud

This is such a sad day. We started running the circuit real hard in the early 80's and we first met Larry and his wife at Brainerd. We happened upon them in their trailer at dog feeding time.
Over the years I moved around on different teams but we always had time for a wave, few jabs and a smile.
Larry, so many thanks for the advice on picking my best and most loyal friend Nitro, the biggest damn Rott to ever hit a truck stop. Oh and the obvious racing advice too.
Also thanks for one of the best smiles, wheels up racing and nods over the years.
God Speed to you and your family. Take care "Big Dog" we'll always miss you.

So sorry to hear of Larry's passing. I only met him once, at a Division One race at Epping in the late 70's and, while asking him a question about the Corvette he was running, he took the time to talk to me like he'd known me his whole life. I'll never forget that. A true champion, and he will be missed.

Very sad news for me as I grew up around Overlea and grew up with Larry. We had some great times togather on the streets. Without a doubt the best modifield racer out there.
RIP Larry, I miss you dearly.

I met Larry and His wife Susan when I worked for NHRA in the Southeast division. He was always up beat, joking and smiling whenever I saw him. He was another truly wonderful person and racer. Even though I hadn't seen him in quite some time, this loss hurts to the core. My prayers go out to Susan and his daughter, may gods strength be with you through this time.

I am so sorry to learn of Larry's passing. He was truly one of the good ones. Susan, he'll never be far away from you and Sherry. Both of you will be in my thoughts and prayers, as well as his friends and the rest of his family.
God Speed Larry. I know you're already talking racing with Darrell and Pappy and all who left before you.
