I made pancakes this morning. It made me think of you because you always made the best pancakes. Dad showed me how you use to make it, make the oil dance and pop before adding the batter. I wish you were here. I love you always.

Grandpa, I got into college. I am going to Husson in the fall. I am going to become a teacher I think. I am getting my own apartment too. Dad is making your dreams come true and moving out of the trailer park. He found a really nice piece of land. Things are going really well for everybody. I just wish you were here to see it. I love and miss you.

We lit candles for you today to wish you a happy Fathers day. I know it has been a long time. Bubbies has gotten so big. I wish you had gotten to meet him. He is growing up to be such a wonderful kid. All of your grandbabies are. I graduated last weekend. I really wish you were able to be there, although you were in my heart. You would be so proud of dad. He has come so far. I know I am proud of him. I miss you lots. Aunty Bobbie, Didi, dad, and I visited Grammie Doris the other day. She isn't doing well. She doesn't remember much at all. In a way I am glad that you passed away before you started to get like that. I love you Grandpa.

Thought of you a lot on the 4th of July; Everyone remember how much Dad loved that holiday? Bobbie-Jo and I were remembering stories of different times being with Dad on the 4th and how much fun it was! Like when he lived where the shaws is in downtown Bangor and we could feel the vibrations...and in the last few years of his life when we went on the bangor/brewer bridge with him! I also will always remember the camping trips this time of year with many of his friends! Love ya Daddy!!

Those we love don't
go away--
They walk beside us
everyday.
A beautiful life
Came to an end-
He died as he lived
everyone's friend.
He never failed to do
his best-
His heart was true and tender.
He simply lived for
those he loved
And those he loved-
Remember.

My wife and I send our condolences to the Cronkite family and friends. I met Ron in high school; we also worked together in the local woolen mill. We were close friends and I was an usher in Ron’s first wedding. We had many great times together raising hell as teenagers. All innocent fun, when we attended professional wrestling at the Bangor Auditorium or trying to purchase beer at a Pittsfield store. We also would walk out of study hall at Nokomis and drive to Newport to get a Pepsi and apple pie pastries. We always went out the front door of the high school, the students that snuck out the back doors were sometimes busted by Mr. Perry or Mr. Morin,we never were busted! Ron and I lost touch as life progressed; I feel bad that we were living this close to each other and failed to keep in touch. Rest well my friend.

I remember Ron when he first came to Corinna, (had a little crush on him :).. He was just so much fun to be around and made everyone laugh. As I read through the tributes to him, you can tell he did something right in life and thats what its all about in the end.. the mark & memories you leave in the hearts and lives of the people you touched.
Rest In Peace Ron

People who knew my Uncle Ron,
My Uncle Ron was not just an uncle he was a good friend, I spent a lot of time, and did a lot of fun things with him, I am blessed to have known him, I would give him a little push on the ice when his wheel was slipping, when he got tracktion he was all set, if he looked back and you were still pushing he would say he's all set. Uncle Ron was never looking for a hand out He likes to do things for himself. If I needed a few bucks he would say how much. I will never forget you Uncle Ron you are like a dad to me I would do anything to get you back, I guess all I can do is be thankful for the time we had together, "God give us all strength" I pray in Jesus's name.

I have had the greatest pleasure of being a part of the Cronkite family for many years. I met Lori (Ron's 1st wife) when I moved to Maine many years ago. We became the best of friends. I absolutely adore all of her children; watching them grow up into the great adults they are today. I know Ron was very proud of his children and loved them dearly. His family was very important to him and he did whatever he could to help when the need arrose. I thought Ron was a very strong willed; determined man who did not let his misfortunes get the best of him---they made him excel more. My heart truly goes out to you Didi, Bobbie-Jo and Ronnie. I love you all very much and am here if you need me. My sympathy also to his sister Sharon and her family and to his dear sweet mother Doris.

I know some of you that have signed my brothers guest book and I'm sorry that I do not know you all, but I can tell that his last days were fiiled with love from his friends and fun with sports. Thank you all for being his friend. My brother Ron was very special to me. He saved my life when I fell from a bridge. He gave my mom and I a place to stay out in Illinois when times were rough. He was a good father to my nieces and nephew and did a good job raising them. My brother is with God in heaven and he will never feel anymore pain or sorrow. Thank you Lord for saving his soul. God Bless you all.

As the Sugarloaf Program Coordinator for Maine Handicapped Skiing and someone who was with Ron on the last day of his life I can tell you that as ussual Ron was out there living life to the fullest, being kind and gentle to those around him and sharing his infectious enthusiasm for the active lifestyle he had chosen. This is how we at MHS will always remember and honor Ron as someone who loved life, lived it to the fullest and strove to share that with others. Our deepest sympathy to the family and Ron's many friends. May we all always remember the lessons that Ron has taught us.

Ron has been our best friend from the first day we met him. He is known as Uncle Ron to our girls and whenever he showed up at our house, "Uncle Ron is Home!" would always be his greeting. Both of our families spent many gatherings together and it just won't be the same without his smiling face. He always looked at life positively and never let anything get in his way of having fun. He has been such an inspiration & the best friend anyone could have ever asked for. Ron, we love you & miss you deeply.
