Vivian Klepak Obituary

Vivian Klepak 1920-2008 PITTSFIELD Vivian Klepak, 87, formerly of 420 Sand Creek Rd., Albany, N.Y., died peacefully Monday at Berkshire Place, 89 South Street, where she had resided for the past several years. Born in Albany June 2, 1920, the daughter of Abraham and Fanny Koblenz, she attended Albany Public Schools and was a graduate of Philip Schuyler High School. Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Klepak had been a member of Temple Israel of Albany and a lifetime member of Hadassah. She possessed a quick wit and enjoyed music and dancing. She was proud to be a member of the Koblenz Family, a large, extended family in Albany. Mrs. Klepak is survived by one son, Charles Klepak of Redondo Beach, Calif.; one daughter, Barbara Shickmanter of Lenox; two sisters, Mary Kantrowitz of San Pedro, Calif.. and Reva Swartz of Mayfield Heights, Ohio; and her grandchildren, Lenore and Margo Shickmanter, and son-in-law Bruce Shickmanter, all of Lenox. She was predeceased by two brothers, Sydney and Leonard Koblenz. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be Thursday, April 24, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME with Barbara Cohen, Spiritual Leader of Congregation Ahavath Sholom, officiating. Burial will follow in Workman's Circle Cemetery in Guilderland, N.Y. The family will sit Shiva (receive visitors) Sunday April 27, 2008 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the home of her daughter, Barbara Shickmanter, 50 Dunmore Court, Lenox. In lieu of flowers donations in Mrs. Klepak's memory may be made to the charity of one's choice in care of the funeral home, 40 Maplewood Ave., Pittsfield, MA. 01201
