Amelia Magner Obituary

Amelia Magner 1922 - 2008 PITTSFIELD Amelia "Marky" Magner, 86, of 24 James St., a lifelong resident, died Monday, April 21, at home. Born in Pittsfield on Jan. 23, 1922, daughter of Dominick and Mary Peralcal Marketonis, she was a 1940 graduate of Pittsfield High School. Mrs. Magner was employed by General Electric as a parts identification clerk for 42 years, retiring in 1985. She was a communicant of St. Charles Church. She was a member of the GE Quarter Century and Pensioners clubs. An avid bingo player, she also enjoyed watching NFL football and Red Sox baseball. Her husband, Arthur J. Magner, whom she married May 29, 1954 in St. Charles Church, died Dec. 28, 2003. She leaves a son, Mark A. Magner and his wife, Debra, of Bradenton, Fla., and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Walter A. Marketonis, who died April 25, 2000. FUNERAL NOTICE: Services for Amelia "Marky" Magner, who died Monday, April 21, will be Friday, April 25, at 9:15 from DERY FUNERAL HOME with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Charles Church, celebrated by the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Magner may be made to St. Charles Church in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St.
