Gertrude S. Ford 1919 - 2008 PITTSFIELD Gertrude S. Ford, 88, of 32 Chestnut St. East Longmeadow, former longtime resident of Brown St., passed away on Friday, Sept. 19, 2008 at Wingate at East Longmeadow. Born in Pittsfield, September 22, 1919, daughter of Adam and Marcyanna Deszcz Loboda, she was educated in the local schools and attended the former Berkshire Business College. Mrs. Ford was employed as a relief operator for ten years at Becton Dickinson in Canaan, Conn., retiring in 1979. She was a longtime communicant of the former Holy Family Church and a member of its Rosary Sodality and was a member of Z.P.R.K. Polish National Alliance. Her husband, the late Harold E. Ford, died April 7, 1978. She leaves four sons, John A. Ford, of Lincoln, N.M., William F. Ford, of Colorado Springs, Colo., Harold J. Ford, of Monson, and Robert H. Ford, of Salt Lake City, Utah, 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Her youngest son, Marine Cpl. James M. Ford, was killed in the line of duty June 24, 1976, and her daughter, Maryellen Mougin died Dec. 10, 2004. She was also pre-deceased by two sisters, Mary Jayko and Jane Sumaj and two brothers Joseph Loboda and Michael Loboda. FUNERAL NOTICE: Services will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2008 at 8:15 a. m. from the DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at St. Josephs Church celebrated by Monsignor Michael A. Shershanovich, pastor officiating. Burial will follow in the West Stockbridge Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Monday from 4 to 7p.m. at the funeral home.
