Geraldine Brown Obituary

Geraldine M. Brown 1918 - 2008 PITTSFIELD Geraldine M. Brown, born Oct. 21, 1918, in Albany, N.Y., died Sept. 20, 2008, in Mansfield, Conn., after a battle with cancer. She was educated at Pittsfield High School, and at the Bishop DeGoesbriand School of Nursing, Burlington, Vt.. A registered nurse for over 60 years, she worked at various hospitals in Indiana, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Vermont. Church affiliations: St. Thomas Aquinas, Storrs, Conn.; St. Andrew's, Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and St. Charles Borromeo, Ft. Wayne, Ind. Her husband, Lyman E. Brown, whom she married April 11, 1943, in Sheldon Springs, Vt., is deceased. She leaves her son, Todd Brown, and daughter-in-law, Debra Brown; grandson, David Brown; granddaughter, Jennifer Brown; brothers, Donald and Gerald McConkey; sister-in-law, Joan McConkey, and numerous nieces and nephews. FUNERAL NOTICE: Services will be at St. Thomas Aquinas Chapel, University of Connecticut, Storrs, Conn., on Oct. 2, 2008 at 10 a.m. A private interment will take place at Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne, Ind., at a future date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society in her honor.
