Alfred Jamula Obituary

PITTSFIELD -- Alfred John Jamula, 81, an 18-month resident of Melbourne Place, formerly of 87 Mohegan St., died Thursday at Berkshire Medical Center.

Born in Pittsfield on July 7, 1926, son of Frank and Karolina Wal Jamula, he was a 1944 graduate of Pittsfield High School and a graduate of the General Electric Co. apprentice draftsman program.

An Air Force veteran of World War II, he was stationed in Biloxi, Miss.

Mr. Jamula was employed by GE as a draftsman from 1946 until his retirement in November 1986. He also worked at the former Eaton Paper Co.

He was a communicant of Holy Family Church and a member of Charles Persip American Legion Post 68. He enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, bowling and building model airplanes and cars.

He leaves a brother, Joseph T. Jamula of Lanesborough.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Alfred John Jamula, who died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2007, will be Tuesday at 8:15 a.m. from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at Holy Family Church celebrated by the Monsignor Michael Shershanovich, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201. Mr. Jamula also leaves many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four sisters, Josephine Jamula, Felecia Konopka, Cecilia Jamula and Statia Ziemak.
