PITTSFIELD -- Shirley Dicranian, 77, of Skowhegan, Maine, died Thursday at Cedar Ridge Nursing Home in Skowhegan. She had lived in Pittsfield from 1953 to 1970. .
Born in Westfield on Dec. 19, 1929, daughter of John and Christine Boylan Guinasso, she attended the Burnham School and Westfield schools.
Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Dicranian had at one time been a telephone operator in Westfield.
She did volunteer work with the Girl Scouts, Parent-Teacher Association and St. Theresa's Church in Pittsfield. She moved to West Springfield in 1970, and was active in local politics. in West Springfield and Kiwanis with her husband. In 1999 she moved to Mercer, Maine to be closer to her family.
She and her husband, Samuel Dicranian, were married in 1953 and moved to Pittsfield, where they started a family, he died in 1990.
Mrs. Dicranian leaves two daughters, Diane Dicranian of Mercer, Maine, Wendy Dicranian of Mercer, Maine; a son, John Dicranian of Phoenixville, Pa.; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Memorial services for Shirley Guinasso Dicranian, who died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007, will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at St Mary's Cemetery, Westfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cedar Ridge Nursing Home, Activity Fund, Cedar Ridge Drive, Skowhegan, ME 04976. I remember your mother with fondness growing up. She was at every school function I can ever remember at Mittineague School. She will be missed and was truly a blessing to know.
